Summer 2009 - Michael Ignatieff in Edmonton: Part 1

Michael Ignatieff in Edmonton June 30th to July 1st, 2009

Town Hall on June 30th

"About 550 people turned out for the town hall meeting, which Ignatieff said was encouraging.  "This is a province that is looking for alternatives.  This is a province that is tiring of having monopoly politics. There was a crowd out here tonight that was looking for an alternative."  He said his reception seemed warm.  "They seemed to like the fact that I sat up there and took questions and there was no safety net. Mr. Harper works in much more controlled circumstances." - Ignatieff has 'respect' for Ukrainians, says Tories misinterpreted his words, Mary Jo Laforest, Canadian Press, June 30th, 2009

"A wonderful Art of Conversation XXXVI a week ago at the Hotel Mac. The terrace is the city's best river valley lookout and the service, as always, was excellence itself. Mayor Mandel, meeting Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff in the hotel, dropped over to enjoy a conversation or two." - This 'n' That, Graham Hicks, Edmonton Sun, July 12th, 2009
